Baptism
Welcoming New Members into the Body of Christ
What is Baptism?
Baptism is the first sacrament of initiation and the foundation of the Christian life. Through Baptism, we are cleansed of original sin, reborn as children of God, and welcomed into the Church. It is a sacred and joyful moment when we receive the grace of God and begin our journey of faith in Christ.
What You Need to Know to Receive the Sacrament of Baptism
Infants: Parents or guardians must be committed to raising the child in the Catholic faith and agree to attend preparation classes.
Adults: Adults seeking Baptism must enroll in the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) program.
Preparing to Receive the Sacrament of Baptism

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a registered parishioner to have my child baptized here?
While it’s ideal for families to be registered parishioners, it’s not always required. Please contact us to discuss your situation—we’re happy to help you prepare for your child’s baptism.
Can we have more than two godparents?
The Church requires one godparent, and allows up to two—one male and one female. However, you’re welcome to include additional special people in your child’s life as Christian witnesses
What if the parents are not married or are married outside the Church?
Your child is always welcome. We’ll work with you to prepare for the sacrament and support your family with care and compassion, regardless of your marital status.
